Dehehantong and School of International Education of East China University of Political Science and Law jointly carry out foreign student exchange visit activities
On April 11, 2025, Dehehantong and the School of International Education of East China University of Political Science and Law jointly carried out an exchange visit for foreign students, focusing on the theme of "New Vision of Cross-border Legal Cooperation: Sino-Foreign Legal Practice Dialogue under the Background of the 'Belt and Road'". East China University of Political Science and Law Associate Professor Li Xiaoqiu, East China University of Political Science and Law School of International education practical tutor Cao Ming, as well as from Italy, France, Russia, Laos, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Canada, Panama, South Korea, Colombia and other 11 countries of foreign doctoral and master foreign students visited Dehehantong visit exchange. Lawyer Jiang Chun, founding partner of Dehehantong, and lawyer Bai Fangrong, director of Shanghai Management Committee of Dehehantong, warmly received and participated in the activity.
01. Opening Speech
Mr. Jiang Chun, founding partner of Dehehantong, and Mr. Li Xiaoqiu, associate professor of East China University of Political Science and Law, jointly delivered the opening speech for the event.
Lawyer Jiang Chun, on behalf of all colleagues of Dehehantong, expressed his sincere welcome to the teachers and students of the School of International Education of East China University of Political Science and Law. Lawyer Jiang Chun closely related to the theme of the event, elaborated on the legal challenges of Chinese enterprises under the background of the "Belt and Road" initiative, and said that Dehehantong attaches great importance to the exchange opportunity with international legal colleagues, and believes that participants from multicultural backgrounds will be able to clash the spark of ideas in this event. Mr. Jiang Chun expressed his sincere thanks to Mr. Li Xiaoqiu, associate professor of East China University of Political Science and Law, and Mr. Lin Liliang, lawyer of Dehehantong Shanghai Law Office, who worked hard for the organization of this event, and paid high tribute to the professional enthusiasm of all participants.
Li Xiaoqiu, associate professor of East China University of Political Science and Law, thanked Dehehantong for his well-prepared activities and expressed his great honor to participate in this exchange visit. Ms. Li mentioned that in daily teaching and academic discussions on campus, teachers and students focus more on the discussion of legal theories. 02. Theme Sharing 1: Introduction to Chinese lawyers' practice and the establishment system of Chinese law firms
In the first theme sharing session, Li Xiaoqiu, associate professor of East China University of Political Science and Law, focused on the Law of the People's Republic of China on Lawyers, and explained China's lawyer practice and law firm management system to Chinese and foreign legal practitioners and students in a way of comparison between China and foreign countries. Mr. Li gave a detailed introduction on "lawyers' qualification, administrative approval, conditions for the establishment of firms and classified management". The topic sharing clarifies the basic institutional logic of China's legal profession for foreign students.
03. Theme Sharing II: Analyze cases of disputes on international goods sale contracts to help enterprises prevent and control risks
Sun Hong, partner of Dehehantong Shanghai Law Office, analyzed cases of disputes over international goods sale contracts and put forward suggestions on enterprise risk prevention and control. The case involves seamless steel pipe trade between Chinese and Italian companies, and the disputes include the validity of inspection reports, the identity of goods and the determination of fundamental breach. Lawyer Sun stressed that refined contract design, strict evidence retention and cross-border evidence connection are the core elements to prevent the risk of international goods trading. This sharing provides foreign legal practitioners with a risk control framework for the whole process from contract design to dispute resolution.
04. Free Discussion
Bai Fangrong, director of the Shanghai Management Committee of Dehehantong, served as the moderator of the free discussion session, guiding Chinese and foreign legal practitioners and students to carry out a heated discussion. Topics covered include common types of cross-border investment disputes, the application of legal technology, data privacy and cross-border regulation, the different roles of lawyers under different legal systems, the current status and policies of women's career development in the legal profession, and courtroom etiquette in various countries. Under the guidance of lawyer Bai Fangrong, the discussion was carried out in an orderly manner, and Chinese and foreign legal practitioners and students actively exchanged ideas and collided on the spot, creating a strong academic and practical atmosphere for the activity.

Cao Ming, a practice tutor at the School of International Education, East China University of Political Science and Law, focused on the career development of women in the legal industry and shared the situation of female lawyers and judges in China. In the past, the legal profession was dominated by men, but in the past decade, the number of female lawyers in China has increased significantly, accounting for a high proportion in many places, especially among young people. 07. Visit Reception
Before the start of the activity, lawyer Chen Xuanlin from the Shanghai office of Dehehantong led the international students to visit the office environment of Dehehantong, the cultural wall of Party construction and the professional achievements exhibition area.
