On August 5, 2025, the "Experience Sharing Conference for Chinese Lawyers' Participation in International Lawyers' Organizations" and the Promotion Conference for the September 19 Ho Chi Minh Campaign were successfully held in the Dehe Hall of Dehehantong Shanghai Office. This event is led by the Xuhui Lawyers' Working Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association (hereinafter referred to as "Xuhui Lawyers' Working Committee") and the "Xuhui Agreement on International (Cross-Regional) Mutual Recognition, Cooperation and Partnership Establishment of Legal Service Institutions" (referred to as "MTCC Xuhui Agreement") The Foreign-related Legal Talent Department of the Xuhui District Young Lawyers Association of Shanghai (" Xuhui Young Lawyers Association ") and Dehehantong Law Office jointly organized the event as the co-organizers.

This event is one of the important practical platforms for promoting international exchanges and cooperation among regional legal talents under the framework of the "MTCC Xuhui Agreement". It focuses on the international development path of young lawyers and conducts in-depth discussions and exchanges around the upcoming third Asia-Pacific Conference of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA). The event attracted many young lawyers to participate both online and offline.
The event was hosted by Lawyer Sun Hong, a partner of Dehehantong Shanghai Office, co-director of the Dehe Shanghai Financial Securities Dispute Committee, a member of the Securities Compliance and Dispute Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association, a public interest lawyer for small and medium-sized investment services, and a director of the Xuhui District Young Lawyers Association (also deputy director of the Foreign-related Legal Talent Department of the Xuhui Young Lawyers Association).
Lawyer Zhou Yejun, deputy director of the Xuhui Lawyers' Committee, director of the MTCC Xuhui Agreement Liaison Office, and senior partner of Huiye Law Firm, systematically introduced the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) and his own practical experience in participating in the activities of international lawyers' organizations. And it was revealed that AIJA will hold an event in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in September this year with the theme "Empowering Connections: The MTCC Xuhui Agreement will be the partner of the third Asia-Pacific Conference of the International Young Lawyers Association "Advancing Legal Excellence in Asia". He stated that both the AIJA and the MTCC Xuhui agreement are committed to building a broader international cooperation network and promoting dialogue and cooperation within the legal practice community. This conference aims to promote exchanges and cooperation among lawyers from various countries, enhance the international perspective and professional qualities of young lawyers, and create a deep interactive cross-border exchange and cooperation platform. We welcome young lawyers to actively participate and jointly explore the legal challenges and opportunities faced by the Asia-Pacific region. Lawyer Jing Lei, the director of the International Business Committee of Zhejiang Jingheng (Shanghai) Law Firm, deputy director of the MTCC Xuhui Agreement Liaison Office, and vice president of the Xuhui District Young Lawyers Association, pointed out that currently, young lawyers are facing growth bottlenecks such as limited business resources and insufficient international vision. Actively participating in international exchanges is the key path to break through these predicaments. The lawyer emphasized that the accumulation of interpersonal connections and the ability to express oneself across cultures are of vital importance. He suggested that young lawyers should take "output participation" as the orientation, and make use of service networks such as the "MTCC Xuhui Agreement", and through international platforms like AIJA and LAWASIA, proactively share China's legal practice experience. This move not only helps to build personal brands but also contributes to the construction of the Asian legal community. This is also the practical cooperation direction that the "MTCC Xuhui Agreement" is committed to promoting.
Lawyer Sun Hong, a partner of Dehehantong Shanghai Office, had an in-depth dialogue with two guests on topics such as "the participation mechanism and knowledge reserve of international organizations, cross-border business cooperation models, the sub-academic fields of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), and the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents by the AIJA". Lawyers Zhou Yejun and Jing Lei, drawing on their own experiences, shared their practical insights on applying the "MTCC Xuhui Agreement" foreign-related legal service network and engaged in a lively discussion with the audience on site.
Lawyer Nie Menghui, a partner of Dehehantong Shanghai Office, asked questions about the MTCC Xuhui Agreement and the future plans of the Foreign-related Legal Talent Department of the Xuhui Youth Lawyers Association for talent cultivation in the Xuhui area. Lawyer Zhou Yejun, in light of the original intention behind the establishment of the "MTCC Xuhui Agreement", shared his experience in participating in international lawyer organizations and how to successfully apply these experiences to domestic practices. He also expressed his hope that more activities could be held in the future to bring benefits to the member institutions of the "MTCC Xuhui Agreement".
Lawyer Xie Yiwen from Dehehantong Shanghai Office asked questions about the hot topics of concern of international lawyers' organizations in recent years. Based on his own exchange experience in the "Belt and Road" countries, Lawyer Jing Lei pointed out that in countries that have economic and trade cooperation and relatively close investment with China, ESG corporate governance is a hot topic of discussion among lawyers from various countries. How China standardizes and regulates ESG and how to make adjustments in line with local policies are frequently mentioned key issues.
This event not only established a platform for sharing experiences among lawyers but also sounded the "assembly call" for the international development of young lawyers in Xuhui District.
