Lawyer Jiang Chun from Dehehantong attended the 83rd session of the Second Working Group of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law
The 83rd session of the Working Group II (Dispute Resolution) of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA from February 16th to 20th, 2026. Lawyer Jiang Chun, an arbitrator of the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (Shanghai International Arbitration Center, SHIAC, hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai International Arbitration Commission") and the founder of Dehehantong, was nominated by Shanghai International Arbitration Commission to attend this international legislative conference as an observer representative.

This conference focused on the recognition and enforcement of electronic arbitration awards as its core topic, and conducted in-depth discussions on multiple important issues such as electronic awards, electronic notifications, remote court hearings, and the application of artificial intelligence in arbitration and commercial mediation. Representatives from dozens of member states around the world, as well as observers from numerous intergovernmental and non-governmental international organizations such as the Shanghai International Arbitration Commission, the London Court of International Arbitration, the American Arbitration Association, the Dubai Financial Court, the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center, the Royal Institution of Chartered Arbitrators, and the International Chamber of Commerce, attended the meeting together.

At the meeting, Han Gang, the deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai International Arbitration Commission, based on the practical experience of the Shanghai International Arbitration Commission, put forward constructive suggestions on the amendment of the Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration and the supplementation of the "Interpretation and Explanation of the Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration", which were recognized and adopted by the Secretariat of the Second Working Group of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.

Lawyer Jiang Chun expressed his opinions on the inclusion of provisions related to electronic service in the Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration, and introduced to the representatives present the situation of electronic service in China's arbitration practice, the risks and challenges it faces, as well as the construction experience of the Shanghai International Arbitration Commission's digital and intelligent platform.

Feng Zhibei, the publicity officer of the Cooperation and Development Department of the Shanghai International Arbitration Commission, as a member of the second special topic group, delivered a speech on the provisions of the "Regulations on Commercial Mediation" and the "Arbitration Law of the People's Republic of China" regarding the mediation system, the construction of the digital and intelligent platform of the Shanghai International Arbitration Commission, and the prospects of artificial intelligence application. The aforementioned remarks have been published on the official website of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.
The current meeting concluded smoothly after completing all its agendas. The Second working Group of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law has formed review reports on various topics and will submit them to the 59th Annual session of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law for review.
