Shanghai Judicial Bureau decided to select young lawyers from the city to train in western China. Bai Lijuan, lawyer of Dehe Haitong Law Firm, was selected into the list of "2024 Young Lawyers Western Exercise" and left for the West today.

"Go to the west, bloom a different kind of flower with youth", with curiosity and expectation, De Xiaohe interviewed lawyer Baili Juan to understand her story of going to the west.

De Xiaohe: Lawyer, this time to be selected in the western exercise list, supporting Xinjiang is a very courageous and meaningful thing, may I ask what is your original intention of signing up for the Western exercise?

Lawyer Bai Lijuan: On the evening of June 2, as soon as the Shanghai Justice Bureau's public account published an article supporting the frontier, an idea popped into my mind immediately: go to the west.

First of all, I have really been infected by the exotic customs of Xinjiang for many years, and now the success of the Western plan has made my wish come true. I believe that the journey that is about to open is completely different from the experience of a short tour. I can see the most real Xinjiang and the most simple Xinjiang more truly. It is super worthwhile to exchange one year for a lifetime of memories!

Secondly, due to the geographical location of the west, the construction of the rule of law is indeed relatively backward, and the border people's thoughts on the rule of law are relatively conservative. Precisely because of this, we need to help them build and enrich the rule of law team, and use concrete actions to let the border people feel that the rule of law is the main guarantee and the rule of virtue is the supplement of warmth in their daily life.

Thirdly, I am a Hui and believe in Islam, and most people in Xinjiang also believe in Islam, so there is no obstacle for me in eating and drinking. I believe I can quickly integrate into them and do my best to help them from the legal point of view.

Finally, the western aid to Xinjiang, Dehe Hantong Law Offices gave me great support and warmth, parents, relatives also gave me great support, so that I can support Xinjiang without any concern, for me, with so many people's expectations and encouragement, I have more courage and confidence to do what I want to do.

De Xiaohe: What problems do you have to overcome in terms of the geographical location and conditions of living in Shanghai and Xinjiang all the year round?

Lawyer Bai Lijuan: The area I am stationed in is located in the most western county of China, in the earthquake zone, there are often earthquakes, in fact, when I learned the location, I was very afraid, and then after researching some information, some psychological construction, so far there is not much problem.

Since childhood, except for the four years of college, I have never left my parents' life and far away from Xinjiang. Maybe the homesickness at the beginning will make me feel a little uncomfortable, but I believe that since I choose to support Xinjiang, I have confidence to overcome all problems.

De Xiaohe: Can you share some of your expectations and visions about going west?

Lawyer Bailijuan: At present, I am full of longing for the life in the coming year. Maybe this year will be very hard, both materially and spiritually, but I also believe that this year will be sweet, because I believe it will definitely be a rewarding year. I look forward to going all out this year to apply my legal expertise to local conditions and truly help those in need. I hope I can make new friends and get everyone's recognition and affirmation in my efforts and feedback. I also hope that I can return safely and healthily this year.

De Xiaohe: Finally, what would you like to say to all the colleagues of Dehe hanTong and the colleagues who want to go to the Western project?

Lawyer Bai Lijuan: To borrow a lyric for the occasion: "You are in the sunny south all seasons like spring, I am in the cold night of the north snow." This collision of climate and cultural differences between the north and the south is not a rare life experience. Want to go to the west, want to explore, as long as the conditions allow, boldly go, do not leave yourself regret, bumpy road to see more beautiful scenery.
