About "Dehe Talk

"Dehe Talk" is an important part of the 20th anniversary series of activities of DHHT Law Firm Law Firm. It aims to conduct in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge theories and practical issues through forms such as special topic sharing and lawyer dialogues.

On June 26, 2026, the sixth session of the "Dehe Talk" series of activities marking the 20th anniversary of DHHT Law Firm, titled "One Law, Two Domains: The Collision and Integration of Labor Laws in the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong", was successfully held. This event is organized by the Shanghai Equity Investment and Mergers and Acquisitions Business Committee and the Shanghai Labor and Social Security Business Committee of DHHT Law Firm, and features a keynote presentation by Senior lawyer Ng Fei-fan from Hong Kong Jin Law Firm. The event focused on an overview of the employment law system in Hong Kong, a comparison of labor laws between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, and practical issues related to cross-border employment. It aimed to help lawyers more accurately grasp the labor employment rules under different jurisdictions and provide more operational professional support for enterprises' cross-border operations, employment compliance, and dispute resolution.

The event was hosted by Lawyer Peng Chen, a partner of the Shanghai office of DHHT Law Firm and co-director of the Shanghai Equity Investment and Mergers & Acquisitions Business Committee of DHHT Law Firm. At the beginning of the event, Lawyer Peng Chen extended a warm welcome to all the guests present. Lawyer Peng pointed out that in the context of enterprises going global, investment and financing lawyers should expand their professional reach with an altruistic mindset and respond to the diverse needs of clients. This lecture aims to bridge the gap between the labor laws of the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, enhance the business understanding and human resource compliance capabilities of lawyers in the global layout of enterprises, and promote cross-border win-win cooperation.

Lawyer Guo Xianhao, the managing partner of the Shanghai office of DHHT Law Firm, delivered the opening speech. Lawyer Guo Xianhao stated, "Dehe Talk" has always adhered to the communication principle of "not engaging in empty talk but focusing on practical content", concentrating on key and difficult issues in lawyers' practice and promoting the sharing of professional experience. 01. Theme sharing, focusing on cutting-edge issues

Lawyer Ng Fei-fan, a senior lawyer from Hong Kong Law Firm, delivered a presentation on the theme of "A Tour of Hong Kong's Employment Law". The shared content starts with a systematic introduction to the core framework of Hong Kong's employment law and its main differences from the labor laws in the mainland. It focuses on analyzing specific aspects including the written and common law systems related to Hong Kong's employment law, employment contracts, major statutory benefits, dismissal and contract termination, etc. It also warns of employer-related risks such as discrimination and harassment, data collection and visa compliance.

02. Lawyer's dialogue, colliding practical perspectives

The dialogue session was presented by Lawyer Wu Feifan and Lawyer Dong Chuanyu, Senior partner of the Shanghai office of DHHT Law Firm and director of the Shanghai Labor and Social Security Business Committee of DHHT Law Firm. Lawyer Zhou Wang, the director of the Hangzhou office of DHHT Law Firm and a senior arbitrator of the Hangzhou Labor Arbitration Committee, jointly conducted an in-depth discussion on practical difficulties such as "employment contract terms and renewals", "overtime pay", "non-compete restrictions", and "retirement determination", delving into the judicial practices and differences of labor laws between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. Lawyers, drawing on their professional experience, engaged in discussions from the perspectives of institutional rules, practical operations, and risk prevention and control, presenting the differences and connections between the labor laws of the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong in terms of concepts, rules, and applicable scenarios. This section takes specific issues as the entry point, which helps lawyers enhance their ability to identify and respond to problems in cross-border projects and enterprise employment management.

At the end of the event, Jiang Chutian, a partner of the Shanghai office of DHHT Law Firm and the director of the Shanghai Equity Investment and Mergers and Acquisitions Business Committee of DHHT Law Firm, delivered a concluding speech. Lawyer Jiang Chutian once again expressed his gratitude to the guests and colleagues from both within and outside the firm for their presence.
